LAND Transportation Office-National Capital Region-West (LTO-NCR-West) Regional Director Roque I. Verzosa III said their intensified campaign and efforts to protect the public against “fixers” have yielded positive results following the arrest of two suspects in Parañaque City on Sunday.

According to Verzosa, the anti-fixing campaign was ordered by LTO chief Jose Arturo Tugade through a memo circulated agency-wide.

Verzosa said the suspects were from Karuhatan, Valenzuela City, and Barangay Sun Valley in Parañaque City.

The LTO-NCR-West Regional Law Enforcement Unit conducted the anti-fixing operation in Bgy. Moonwalk, Parañaque City in coordination with the PNP (Philippine National Police) Parañaque Police Intelligence Section headed by Police Maj. Alan Hernandez, the LTO Parañaque District Office, resulted in the duo’s capture.

“Asahan ninyo na tuloy-tuloy itong ating magiging operasyon laban sa kanila (fixers),” Verzosa said.

Florante Martin, the chief of LTO Parañaque, said the arrest of the suspects was made possible through the social networking site Facebook.

“Na-monitor po namin ito sa kanilang post sa Facebook, so kaya nagconduct kami ng entrapment operation with the PNP. Confirmed na gumagawa sila ng non-appearance registration sa halagang P9,000 each,” he said.

The suspects are now detained at the PNP Parañaque Custodial Facility.
