Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — A former member of the Communist Terrorist Group and one one Underground Mass Organization (UGMO) member surrendered to authorities over the weekend.

Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen identified the surrenderees as alias “Bal”, 70, a farmer and former Underground Mass Organization (UGMO) member, of Bgy. Buhawen, San Marcelino, Zambales; and alias “Ka Rona,” 50, of Bgy. Mabatang, Abucay, Bataan.

Zambales Provincial Mobile Force Company and other concerned units facilitated the voluntary surrender of “Bal” while “Ka Rona” who were received at the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company of Bataan.

They also turned over one .38 revolver, a rifle grenade, and high explosive materials consisting of time fuse and detonating cord.

“I commend our troops for continuously conducting intensified tactical operations and community engagement activities in support of Executive Order No. 70 to convince CTG members in the region to lay down their arms and live a peaceful life back into the mainstream society,” Pasiwen said.
