14 farmers cut ties with CPP-NPA in Ecija

SAN JOSE CITY – The 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), under its commander Lt. Col. Ranny Casilla, on Friday facilitated the “withdrawal of support” of 14 mass base supporters of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) and their eventual return to the government fold.

Casilla said about 14 farmer-members of Liga ng Manggagawang Bukid (LMB) and the Alyansang Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luzon from the Kilusan ng Magsasaka sa Pilipinas took their oath of allegiance to the government in simple rites held at the 2nd PMFC patrol base in Bgy. Pacac, Guimba at 10:00 a.m.

The 14 surrenderees are identified by their aliases as “Monti”; “Alice”; “Anna”; “Celina”; “Ayet”; “Gina”; “Irene”; “Irene”; “Pablo”; “Eva”; “Lovely”; “Mel”; “Michelle”; and “Myra” – all of Bgy. Pacac, Guimba.

Casilla said they pledged their support to the government in line with the objectives of the Provincial Task Force to End the Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC).

Following the signing of the manifesto of support, he said the activity was followed by the distribution of food packs to the surrenderees in line with the Police Regional Office 3’s (PRO3) PNP Community Outreach Program.
