12 rescued, 2 arrested in Bulacan sex den raid

CAMP General Alejo S. Santos, City of Malolos – Twelve victims of prostitution including two minors on Saturday were rescued while two suspects were arrested in a raid at a resort hotel in Marilao, Bulacan

In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director, Brig. Gen. Matthew Bacay, Bulacan police commander Col. Manuel Lucban said a joint entrapment operation led by the Region 3 Anti-Trafficking Task Group and the Marilao police conducted the raid which resulted in the rescue of seven females including two minors and five men who were being forced to do sexual favors to customers.

Two suspects identified as Rommel Bondoc, alias Rhian, of Bgy. Abangan, Marilao, Bulacan; and Hiroyuki Andrew Maeda, alias Hiro, of Bgy. Lolomboy, Bocaue, Bulacan were arrested in the raid.

Appropriate criminal complaints against the suspects are being prepared while rescued minors were turned over to the Marilao Municipal Social Welfare and Development.

The suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9208 as amended by RA 10364, or the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012.

Bacay lauded his men for the operation and vowed that the Central Luzon police will continue its efforts to put behind bars those who take advantage and abuse innocent civilians.
