Woman gunned down in front of son
A WOMAN on Saturday night was shot dead in front of her horrified son in Davao del Sur.
Slain was Dorothy Bantilan, a resident of Bgy. Poblacion, Matanao, Davao del Sur.
Bantilan was an enconder of the Rural Health Unit in Matanao.
The victim was sitting outside a store in the village, along with her young son and relatives, when an armed man approached and without a word shot her at close range.
The suspect fled on a motorcycle driven by a cohort.
People in the area said they did not pay attention to the gunman, as they thought he was going to buy something from the store.
Police are investigating the killing while the child, who witnessed the murder of his mother, is set to undergo counseling.
