UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas and University of the East stake their men’s and women’s titles as the UAAP judo competitions kicks off today at the Blue Eagle Gym.

The Gerard Arce-mentored Growling Tigers are gunning for a fifth straight title, while the Lady Warriors hope to make it two in a row in the two-day event which will start at 12 noon.

In the most recent competition last March 2020, UST nipped University of the Philippines to claim a four-peat in the men’s side.

UE achieved a breakthrough in the women’s side as it secured its first-ever crown, ending UST’s five-year reign.

High school action, meanwhile, begins at 8 a.m.

UST annexed a fourth straight boys crown, while UE kept the title for a third consecutive season in 2020.
