Uncle kills 3-month-old nephew in Cainta
POLICE are hunting down a man accused of killing his 3-month-old nephew in their rented room in Cainta, Rizal.
Police identified the suspect as John Melvin Caino.
The gruesome murder occurred at Rm. 102, Basilio Room for Rent, Sampaguita St. Ampalaya Compound, Sitio Halang, Bgy. San Isidro, Cainta, Rizal,
Neighbors told probers that at 10:30 a.m. on Monday they saw the suspect left the brother of the baby to a neighbor with his belongings.
Knowing that there was still a child inside the room, they checked on the baby from the window and saw the tot on the bed not moving, with the head covered with a blanket.
The neighbors forcibly opened the door and found the infant lifeless, with bruises and burnt wounds.
They quickly sought help from village officials and called the Cainta Municipal Police Station.
According to neighbors, the baby and the child’s brother were always left under the care of Caino while their mother reports for work.
The Rizal Police Provincial Office – Scene of the Crime Office personnel were asked to conduct a technical examination at the crime scene, as well as an autopsy on the baby’s body, to determine the real cause of his death.
Members of the Cainta Municipal Police Station are conducting a follow-up operation for possible arrest of the suspect.
