THE Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) takes another look at the development of rugby and basketball — two sports closest to the Filipinos’ heart — in this Thursday’s’ “Usapang Sports on Air ” via Zoom.

Asia Rugby Executive Committee Member and Philippine Rugby President Ada Milby will talk about her plans to promote rugby, including her campaign to become the first woman to win a seat in the World Rugby Council Executive Committee.

Milby, who also became the first female member of the World Rugby Council in 2017, will announce plans to ensure rugby is the sport of choice for everyone and initiatives for equitable competition pathways.

Milby also hopes to bring a voice and perspective from emerging markets that will connect with new and young audiences.

Joining Milby during the 10 a.m. public service program sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and Games and Amusements Board (GAB) are Pilipinas Vis-Min Cup chief operating officer Rocky Chan and team owners Gail Jao of Tubigon Bohol Mariners, Ken Ancis of Dumaguete Warriors and Ricky Verdida of Mandaue-KCS Computer Specialist.

TOPS president Ed Andaya of People’s Tonight is inviting all officers and members, and friends in the sports community to join the weekly sports session also shown live on Facebook and YouTube.

This is the 17th session for the year and fourth for the month of TOPS, which is composed of editors, columnists, reporters and photographers of the country’s leading national tabloids and friends from different social media groups.

Veteran sportscaster Ernest Leo Hernandez is the moderator.
