DEFENDING champion T2000 routed Team 80s, 104-67, while Batch 93 outsteadied Batch 89, 74-67, to arrange a winner-take-
all title showdown in the 2023 ERJHS Alumni Sports Club basketball tournament at Barangay N.S. Amoranto covered court in Malaya St. Quezon City.

The foursome of Jeff Caguisa, Joseph Bognot, Mark Caguisa, and Kelvin Pantaleon combined for 77 points as T2000 unleashed its full might right in the opening minutes and won pulling away before a big weekend crowd that included Quezon City Cong. Arjo Atayde and Councilors T.J. Calalay and Doray Delarmente.

J. Caguisa led the way with 29 points for T2000 of playing coach Jerome Nell. , followed by Bognot with 16 points and M.Caguisa and Pantaleon with 11 points apiece.

It was T2000’s seventh straight win, including six in the elimination round against Team 80s, (71-67), Batch 89 (79-64), Batch 94 (90-83), Batch 93 (73-67), Bqtch 96 (by forfeiture) and Batch 2000 (84-66).

Mike Gomez topscored with 30 points for Team 80, which played without leading scorer Joseph Realista.

Earlier, Batch 93 of playing coach Richard Nell and team manager Rafhael Fidelson, rode on the hot hands of Bong Borja, Dong Ramirez, Joey Cura and Alvin Magpantay to roll back Batch 89.

Borja and Ramirez scored 15 points apiece, Cura had 13 and Magpantay added 12 points for Batch 93.

Alvin Tanare and Jon Cano paced Batch 89 with 19 and 17 points, respectively.

The tournament is supported by Brgy N.S. Amoranto headed by Chairman Ato De Guzman, PingPing Lechon of William Chua and Wang’s Ballclub of Alex Wang.
