Suspended traffic enforcer apprehends motorists, nabbed

POLICE arrested a suspended local traffic enforcer after he continued to apprehend motorists, mostly cargo and trailer trucks, passing through P. Aquino Letre midnight Tuesday in Malabon City.

Malabon police chief P/Col. Albert Barot said Edwin Vizmanos and Lolito Gimoro, both personnel of Malabon Public Safety and Management Office (PSTMO), were conducting their official duty in Brgy. Tonsuya at about 12-midnight when they saw Macario Algusar, Jr., 46, of 18 Kaunlaran St. Brgy. Muzon, a suspended traffic enforcer, while apprehending drivers of trailer and cargo trucks along P. Aquino Letre.

The on-duty Malabon traffic enforcers immediately sought the assistance of P/SSgt. Jonathan Custodio and P/Cpl. John Mark Donguines of Station Intelligence Section of Malabon police that resulted in the arrest of Algusar.

Police recovered from Algusar an Ordinance Violation Receipt (OVR) booklet he used in flagging down drivers of cargo and trailer trucks. The suspect was charge with usurpation of authority when he was presented for inquest proceedings before the Malabon City Prosecutor’s Office.
