THE City Government of Navotas started the distribution of financial assistance to qualified solo parents through the Gender and Development (GAD) fund.

Some 200 Navoteños who applied and renewed their solo parent identification cards received P2,000 cash subsidy.

The Saya All, Angat All Tulong Pinansyal ng LGU ng Navotas para sa mga Solo Parents is also part of the city government’s series of pandemic recovery programs.

“We want to extend as much help as possible to Navoteño solo parents because we know they are one of those who were severely affected by the pandemic. We hope to give them the means to provide for their families, especially now that the expanded face to face classes have started and the prices of basic commodities have increased,” Mayor Toby Tiangco said.

“The program will run for the whole year to accommodate all qualified solo parents in the city. To be included in the list of beneficiaries, solo parents must apply or renew their IDs and be validated by the City Social Welfare and Development Office,” he added.

The Saya All, Angat All program is expected to benefit 1,500 solo parents in the city.

Navotas, through City Ordinance No. 2019-17, further provides indigent solo parents with P1,000 educational assistance every school year.

Last 2020, registered solo parents who were not included in the Social Amelioration Program also received financial assistance under the GAD fund.
