Sikyu dies in Batangas road mishap
A 33-YEAR-OLD security guard was declared dead at the hospital after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a truck while traveling on J. P. Laurel Highway, Barangay Bugtong na Pulo, Lipa, Batangas City, on Friday at 1:30 a.m.
Lipa City Police Station (CPS) investigators PSSg. Joseph Lester R. Cabales and PCpl. Ronald A. Malaluan identified the fatality as Pocholo Estillero, married, of San Vicente, Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
Lipa CPS authorities said they received a telephone call at 3:20 a.m. about the incident and immediately dispatched personnel to verify the report.
Initial investigation revealed that a Yamaha motorcycle driven by Estillero was traveling to Malvar town when it accidentally collided with the Fuso tractor head truck coming from the opposite direction toward Gate 2 of Lima Park Technology Center.
The victim sustained injuries in various parts of the body and was brought to Ospital ng Lipa for medical treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival at around 3:40 a.m by the attending physician.
