LAKAS-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte positively received the news that her father, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, will soon campaign for national and local candidates of the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino Lakas ng Bayan (PDP Laban).

“I think it is a welcome development for the PDP party and the PDP candidate[s] na mabibigyan sila ng push sa pag-campaign ng kabilang party. Nandiyan naman na si President Duterte for them,” Mayor Duterte told reporters in ambush interview Friday as she attended multiple sorties in the northern part of Metro Manila.

“Ang panawagan namin sa lahat ng kasama natin ay magkaisa tayo sa election,” said Duterte, who chairs Lakas-CMD.

Throughout President Duterte’s six-year tenure in Malacañang, Lakas-CMD has served as a solid collation partner of the PDP-Laban, which the Chief Executive chairs.

While he hasn’t declared support for any of the Palace seat aspirants in the upcoming May 2022 elections, President Duterte previously said that he would back his daughter’s bid for the vice presidency.
