SAN Miguel Beer is bringing in a new import in Devon Scott as a replacement for Diamond Stone.

In a report posted at the PBA.PH, San Miguel reportedly decided to make the drastic move of changing its import in its mid-season campaign. following the throat surgery of MVP awardeeJune Mar Fajardo.

San Miguel is currently 1-2 in the import-flavored conference and Fajardo is reportedly out for at least a month while rcuperatng from the injury during a collision with Rain or Shine import Steve Taylor in their game last Oct. 9.

The 6-9 Scott, who saw action in various leagues in Canada, Brazil, Italy, Argentina and Korea, is expected to play better than Stone.

Scott will make his debut for the Beermen when they against Converge on Friday at the PhilSports Arena.

Meanwhile, action continues today with Meralco Bolts taking on Phoenix Super LPG at 3 p.m. and TNT Tropang Giga battling NLEX Road Warriors at 5:45 p.m.

The Bolts are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 99-106 loss to Converge last Saturday that dropped them to 1-3.

“It’s a must-win situation for us,” said Meralco coach Norman Black in an interview.

“With Phoenix playing as well as they have been the last couple of games we will have to be at our best, especially on the defensive end of the court.”

The Topex Robinson-mentored Fuel Masters, on the other hand, are looking to extend their winning streak and improve to an even 3-3 record.

An interesting sidelight in the TNT-NLEX match is the battle between coaches Chot Reyes and Frankie Lim.

Lim, who has had a stint with the MVP franchise as team manager, is still winless in his PBA return.

NLEX defeated Rain or Shine, 96-90, and Blackwater, 105-102, both under interim coach Adonis Tierra.
