Quezon cops nab 2 drug suspects, P.6M shabu seized
LUCBAN, Quezon – Police operatives on Wednesday arrested two suspected drug “pushers” following the seizure of P600,000 worth of illegal drugs and a rifle at Sitio Ilaya, Barangay Manasa, here.
Quezon Police Director Col. Ledon Monte said the two suspects were caught with shabu when collared by joint elements of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) headed by Major Mendel Casao and Lucban Police Station under Capt. Arjon Oxina.
Monte said the arrest yielded 30.22 grams of shabu with a street value of P616,488 and an unregistered Colt AR-15 Cal.9mm rifle, and three marked P1,000 bills.
Oxina said the suspects were arrested during a drug buy-bust at around 12:20 p.m. (December 21) at the said village.
The suspects will be charged with violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Art. II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 under Republic Act (RA) 9165 and Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (RA 10591).
