QCPD nabs 2 drug suspects for P100K shabu; 10 MWPs fall

QUEZON City policemen arrested two drug suspects and ten “most wanted persons” (MWPs) in its latest anti-illegal drugs and anti-criminality operations.

Talipapa Police Station 3 (PS 3) under P/Lt. Col. Mark Janis C. Ballesteros arrested an 18-year-old suspect with the alias “Paopao”, and his accomplice, both residents of Barangay Tandang Sora.

A buy-bust operation was set against the suspects at about 11:25 p.m., September 19, 2022, at Upper Banlat, Bgy. Tandang Sora, Quezon City, after a confidential informant reported about their illegal drug peddling activities.

Seized were more or less 15 grams of shabu valued at P102,000, a cellular phone, and the buy-bust money used in the transaction.

Meanwhile, in a manhunt operation against MWPs, ten were arrested by the following stations: La Loma Police Station (PS 1) under P/Lt. Col. Garman G. Manabat arrested three MWPs for three counts of rape; Project 4 Police Station (PS 8) under P/Lt. Col. Leoben Ong arrested one for violation of RA 9262; Kamuning Police Station (PS 10) under P/Lt. Col. Robert Amoranto arrested one for swindling (estafa); and Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) under Officer-in-Charge (OIC) P/Maj. Rene Balmaceda arrested one MWP.

Project 6 Police Station (PS 15) under P/Lt. Col. Norman T. Florentino served arrest warrants to four MWPs at BJMP (Bureau of Jail Management and Penology) Sta. Cruz District Jail in Laguna.

The arrested drug suspects will be charged with violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022, while the courts of origin will be notified of the arrest of MWPs.

P/Brig. Gen. Nicolas D. Torre III lauded the men and women of the QCPD for being efficient in their sworn duties and responsibilities, which resulted in the arrest of the suspects.

“We’re grateful indeed for this QCPD accomplishments. Tulong-tulong tayo. Your cooperation is of big help in maintaining peace and order in our community,” said P/Brig. Gen. Jonel C. Estomo, regional director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
