TWO robbery holdup suspects were arrested by the police on Sunday night, January 1, 2022, in Quezon City, according to Police Lieutenant Col. Garman Manabat, station commander of La Loma Police Station (PS).

Based on the initial report, the Tactical Motorcycle Riders Unit (TMRU) of PS 1 was patrolling along Kaingin Road, Barangay Apolonio Samson, Quezon City, when a victim sought police assistance after he was robbed by two unidentified suspects who introduced themselves as police officers onboard a motorcycle and fled towards Balintawak.

After that, patrolling officers and the victim immediately chased the fleeing suspects and cornered them along Kaingin Road near Bgy. Apolonio Samson Hall, at about 7:45 p.m.

The victim positively identified the suspects and pinpointed them as the same persons who robbed him.

Recovered from their possession were one improvised firearm or “sumpak” with 12 gauge shotgun live ammunition, a revolver caliber .22 loaded with four bullets, a Suzuki Skydrive motorcycle, and the victim’s cellular phone.

Cases of Robbery, Republic Act (RA) 10591 or Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition and Art. 177 or Usurpation of Authority of Official Functions will be filed against the suspects before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
