A SUSPECTED “drug den” in Placer, Surigao del Norte this week was smashed by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) following a raid, which led to the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of an estimated P115,000 worth of shabu, PDEA chair, Director General Moro Virgilio M. Lazo said on Saturday.

Arrested during the early evening Tuesday (May 9) raid in Purok 1 Cagbantoy in Barangay Amoslog, Placer municipality, were two suspected drug dive maintainers and their visitor.

The PDEA chief said that members of the PDEA Regional Office 13 and the Placer Municipal Police Station (MPS) were involved in the operation, which resulted in the confiscation of four plastic sachets containing around 17 grams of the so-called “poor man’s cocaine” valued at P115,000 and various drug paraphernalia.

The raid followed a buy-bust operation, which led to the arrest of one of the two drug den maintainers who sold shabu to an undercover officer. The marked money was also recovered from the possession of the suspect.

All arrested suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
