CLARK FREEPORT – Clark Development Corporation (CDC) is gearing up for the much-anticipated Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions Conference (MICECon) 2024, which is set to highlight the Metro Clark area’s “world-class” facilities, culture, and heritage with the Freeport as the perfect backdrop.

In a signing ceremony held on Saturday, May 13, at the Clark Visitor’s Center, CDC, and the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) formally signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the hosting of MICECon 2024 and pledged their commitment to ensuring the success of the highly anticipated event.

CDC President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera and TPB Chief Operating Officer (COO) Ma. Margarita Nograles officially inked the deal for the MOU. They were joined by CDC Vice President for Business Development and Business Enhancement Group Atty. Noelle Mina Meneses and TPB Deputy COO for Corporate Affairs Atty. Venancio Manuel III.

Meanwhile, members of the CDC Board of Directors headed by Atty. Edgardo Pamintuan also graced the event and showed their support for the MICECon 2024.

In her speech during the activity, Nograles expressed gratitude for the support of the CDC and cited the suitability of Clark as the official host of the MICECon 2024.

“Thank you so much, Ma’am Agnes, for your passion, vision and creativity to make things happen. We are so fortunate to have a partner in you. Needless to say, I am also a very good fan of Clark, and I really believe that the time for Clark is now,” she said.

For her part, Devanadera thanked TPB for choosing Clark as the host destination for next year’s MICECon and pledged the state-owned firm’s commitment to ensure the success of the event.

“We are really working very hard to make Clark a premier tourism destination. And we are proud to say that Clark is moving faster than we projected. We are now really preparing and focused on the MICECon. Just this morning, we had the privilege of meeting with Transportation Secretary Bautista, who is now in another conference hall within Clark, to talk about the timeline and calendar (for) the implementation of the railway system to avoid any congestion or closure that will affect the flow of traffic during the MICECon. In another conference, we also have an ongoing seminar on the Public Private Partnership (PPP) so we can come up with more infrastructure projects. So, everything is now focused in support of the MICECon,” Devandera added.

CDC and TPB are working together with various sectors and stakeholders to create a seamless and memorable event. The two organizations are committed to ensuring that MICECon 2024 exceeds expectations and leaves a lasting impact on the Philippine tourism industry.

Moreover, CDC is collaborating with the Metro Clark local government units (LGUs), including Mabalacat City, Angeles City, Municipality of Porac, Pampanga, and Municipalities of Bamban and Capas, Tarlac to ensure that all areas are ready and accessible for the attendees of MICECon 2024. The support of these LGUs is instrumental in creating a positive and memorable experience for attendees from all over the world.

MICECon is an annual conference that aims to promote the Philippines as a top destination for MICE activities. It provides a platform for industry experts to share their knowledge and expertise, leading to meaningful and long-lasting partnerships.

The upcoming MICECon 2024 is set to inspire and shape the future of the tourism industry. This event will bring together innovators, influencers, and decision-makers from all over the world, leading to a brighter future for the Philippine tourism industry.
