VALENZUELA CITY – Authorities arrested a man who tried to rob a female dentist after posing as a “dental patient” Tuesday afternoon in Valenzuela City.
Romeo Manuel, 26, an alleged notorious robber and resident of Baseco Compound, Tondo, Manila entered the dental clinic located along McArthur Highway, Bgy. Malanday at around 5:00 p.m. and posed as a patient who needed dental services.
The lady dentist, whose name has been with held for security reasons, told P/Lt. Armando Delima, commander of Sub-Station 6, that the suspect pulled out a bladed weapon and declared a holdup.
When Manuel started to ransack the clinic, the victim took the opportunity to run outside and sought the assistance of pedestrian and traffic enforcers Fred Patiño, Victoriano Jayson, and elements of Sub-Station 6.
The suspect, sensing the presence of policemen, tried to escape but was cornered after a brief chase. Recovered from his possession were a fan knife, cable tie, duct tape, and P700 cash he took from the victim.
Delima said the suspect was previously charged with a robbery holdup in Manila but was released from jail on March 22, 2022.
The suspect was presented for inquest proceedings before the Valenzuela City Prosecutor’s Office on charges of robbery holdup with threat and intimidation and violation of Batas Pambansa 6 in relation to Comelec Resolution 10728 or poll gun ban.
