Online scammer, 11 felons fall in Bulacan

CAMP GENERAL ALEJO S SANTOS, City of Malolos – The Bulacan Police arrested an online scammer and 11 other law offenders in a stepped-up implementation of health protocols to curb the upsurge of COVID-19.

In a report to Bulacan Police Acting Director Col. Charlie Cabradilla, suspect Marcel Paclarin, a resident of Mojon, Malolos City, was arrested in an entrapment conducted by the Quezon City District Anti-Cybercrime Team (QCDACT) assisted by personnel of Malolos CPS at a Smart Padala branch in Bgy. Mojon, Malolos City, for swindling or estafa in relation to Section 6 of RA 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

Paclarin was an online seller whom a complainant sent her a total of P8,000 in several transactions via GCash as payment for purchasing an item.

However, the suspect failed to deliver the ordered item on the agreed date and time, and instead asked for another payment to be sent to another GCash account.

Seized from the suspect were cellphones, cash, two Smart Padala claim receipts, Comelec (Commission on Elections) ID (identification card) under the name of Myrna Deleon, vaccine card, and PWD ID under the name of Marcel Paclarin.

Meanwhile, nine more suspects were arrested in a series of anti-crime operations in Dona Remedios Trinidad (DRT), Pandi, Plaridel, and San Ildefonso.

They were identified as Gilbert Generoso, of Mapanique, Candaba, Pampanga; Danilo Agballog, of San Pedro, Lupao, Nueva Ecija; Jaymart Dela Torre, of Malipampang; and Felix Rebugay, of Mataas na Parang, San Ildefonso, all arrested for alarm and scandal, unjust vexation, and disobedience upon agent of person in authority; Michael De Guzman, of Sibul, San Miguel, for rape; Gerald Tenorio, of Mapulang Lupa, Pandi, for violence against women and children; Gilbert Jambalos alias Bert, Derick Pacipico alias Tonyo, and John Lester, all residents of San Jose, Plaridel, for theft.

Two wanted persons were arrested in separate manhunt operations in Guiguinto, identified as Rolly Bibon, of Sto. Cristo, CSJDM, for Violation of PD 705 (Forestry Reform Code of the Philippines); and Marietta Padilla, of Daungan, Guiguinto, for estafa.

Cabradilla said the Bulacan Police remain relentless and unyielding in the anti-crime operations as directed by PRO 3 (Police Regional Office 3) Director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay.
