CABANATUAN CITY — The National Food Authority thanked a group of Novo Ecijano farmers after receiving the first batch of palay harvest for the dry crop season 2023 from the Cabanatuan Dreamland Irrigators’ Association (CDIA).

The National Irrigation Administration-Upper Pampanga River Integrated Irrigation System headed by engineer Rosalinda B. Bote said the delivery was made in accordance with the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) agreement that was forged between the NFA and the CDIA.

Under the agreement, the state-run grains agency will procure the palay harvested by the irrigator’s group at P19 per kilo to help the farmers and at the same time maintain the optimal level of its buffer stock at all times.

Bote said the delivery consisted of 200 bags of palay that were harvested by 15 various IAs under the federation.

Also present to receive the palay delivery were acting assistant NFA regional manager Roy Q. Untiveros, acting NFA-Nueva Ecija branch manager Jimmy M. Mallari, and acting branch standard quality assurance officer Anie D.L. Lucero.

The palay stocks were delivered by CDIA led by its president Victor A. Hernandez with personnel from the NIA-UPRIIS Division 3 led by engineer Elenita L. Toquero serving as witnesses.

Bote said this collaboration was a manifestation of NIA’s commitment to attain good governance through partnership with the farmers and other relevant interested parties.
