AGENTS of the Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG) of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) have arrested a suspected gun trafficker in Metro Manila during an entrapment operation in Tondo, Manila, a report to NCRPO Director Major General Felipe R. Natividad said yesterday.

The suspect from Barangay 121, Tondo, is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013 in relation to the gun ban under the Omnibus Election Code, said NCRPO-RSOG Chief Lt. Col. Joseph Maribbay.

The official said that a team of RSOG operatives led by Maj. Sonny Rey Comafay, with officers from the Manila Police District (MPD) Raxabago Police Station, arrested the suspect during a buy-bust operation along Velasquez St. corner Nicodemus St. in Bgy. 74 around 10:00 p.m. last Wednesday.

The suspect was arrested shortly after handing a gun to an undercover officer and received the boodle money topped by two marked P500.

Recovered from the suspect was a caliber 9mm CZ 75 semi-automatic pistol with an empty magazine and the marked money.

The suspect was immediately taken to the NCRPO-RSOG lock-up facility for further investigation and filing of criminal charges following his arrest.
