NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Major General Felipe R. Natividad on Wednesday ordered the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) to work “double-time” in solving the case of two kids killed by bullets for their father inside their house in Novaliches on Friday last week.

The Metro Manila police chief said he has instructed QCPD Director Brigadier Gen. Remus B. Medina to monitor the case’s progress fully and “exploit” all available means to help them identify “persons of interest” in the deadly shooting incident.

The official said QCPD investigators must solve the incident in no time by talking with the victims’ family, relatives, and friends, who may be able to provide the information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the shooters.

QCPD investigators are looking into several motives behind the deadly incident, including the possibility it could be a “vendetta” attack or a personal motive.

Probers are also looking into the background of the father of the slain kids.

“While the investigation of this incident is going on, we would like to solicit the cooperation of the public to please relay to the authorities any information about this incident,” he said.

Natividad said that information may be forwarded thru the NCRPO hotline numbers 0915-888-81-81 for Globe and 0999-901-81-81 for Smart subscribers.

“We assure the public that the identity of the informants will be kept confidential,” he said.

The QCPD had said that a gunman attacked the victims’ father as he was standing in front of his house at Jordan Plains Subdivision in Bgy. Sta. Monica in Novaliches around 10:50 a.m. last June 10.

Although wounded, Zamora managed to run inside their house and hide. However, the suspect and his companions followed the victim and fired shots at the front door hitting the male children, one aged 7 and a three-year-old.

The two young kids who were then sleeping succumbed to their wounds. The three-year-old boy died while being taken to a nearby hospital, and the 7-year-old expired while undergoing treatment.

The father survived his gunshot wounds but had to undergo hospital confinement.

Brig. Gen. Medina said that he has ordered an “all-out” operation to identify and arrest the two motorcycle-riding armed men who escaped in an unknown direction right after the shooting incident.
