MWP ‘rapist’ in Batangas falls
AUTHORITIES captured a 29-year-old construction worker charged with multiple counts of rapes in his residence in Bgy. Lumbang Calzada, Calaca, Batangas, the other day.
Calaca Municipal Police Station (MPS) Officer-in-Charge (OIC) P/Lt. Col. Willy B. Salazar identified the accused as Mark Anthony Riosa alias “Palos”.
Riosa is listed as the most wanted person (MWP, regional level) for seven counts of rape (RPC Art. 266-A) (2), in relation to Art. 266-B of the RPC as amended by RA 8353 and in relation further to Art. III, Section 5 (B) of RA 7610.
Case officers P/SSg. Marlou A Diomampo and P/Cpl. Raphaelito P. Macalindong said around 11:30 p.m. in Bgy. Lumbang Calzada, joint personnel of Calaca MPS led by Salazar together with personnel of Provincial Intelligence Team (PIT) Batangas, Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU)4A, Regional Intelligence Team (RIT) Batangas, Regional Intelligence Division (RID)4A, and 403rd Maneuver Company Regional Mobile Force Batallion (RMFB)4A conducted a police operation against the most wanted person (MWP) that resulted in the arrest of the accused.
The accused was handcuffed by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued on April 19 by Presiding Judge Cristino E. Judit, of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 10, of Balayan, Batangas.
