THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) decided to suspend the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or number coding scheme today, Holy Wednesday.

MMDA General Manager Procopio Lipana announced the suspension of number coding scheme on Wednesday, instead of Maundy Thursday and Good Friday which were being observed as regular holidays nationwide, to give way to all those who wanted to travel outside Metro Manila.

“Sa kaalaman ng ating mga mananakay, starting today, (Wednesday) lifted po muna ang ating number coding,” Lipana said in a radio interview.

The MMDA announced the lifting of number coding on Wednesday following the memorandum circular issued by Malacanang that work in the government offices on Holy Wednesday will be suspended starting at 12 noon onwards “to provide government employees to properly observe Maundy Thursday and Good Friday and to allow them to travel to and from the different regions in the country.”
