AUTHORITIES seized more than P6 million worth of illegal drugs from two Chinese nationals and their Filipina cohort in a buy-bust operation Monday evening in Taguig City.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Kirby John Kraft identified the arrested Chinese nationals as Kun Yang, 26, and Yang Tao, 29, who were listed as High Value Individuals (HIV) and were both members of Yang Drug Group, operating in the cities of Muntinlupa, Makati, Pasig, Pasay and Taguig.

The two Chinese nationals, along with their 18-year-old Filipina cohort Faith Jovenes Suñiga, alias “Trixie” were arrested at around 10:30 p.m. by joint operatives of Regional District Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) and Taguig and Pasay anti-narcotics group at a parking lot of The Fort Strip, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

In his report to National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director P/MGen. Jonnel Estomo, BGen. Kraft said the buy-bust was conducted while the suspects were in a vehicle. They were immediately arrested after they handed a kilo of shabu placed in a yellow and green plastic tea bag with Chinese characters to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P1.2 million marked money.

Authorities also seized from the suspects a transparent plastic sachet containing dried leaves and fruiting tops suspected to be marijuana “Kush” weighing more or less 9.5grams, a small transparent plastic sachet containing 62 pieces of small red round tablets and 38 pieces of small pink round tables suspected to be Chinese Magoo or Magu.

Kraft said authorities also seized the vehicles used by the suspects in their illegal drug transactions while the confiscated assorted illegal drugs valued at P6.8 million were turned over to SPD Forensic Unit for qualitative and quantitative examination.
