MC-riding ‘thief’ who took ex-actress’ bag falls
POLICEMEN arrested the motorcycle-riding “thief” who snatched the bag of former actress Hazel Espinosa in Quezon City on Thursday.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Police Brigadier General Nicolas D. Torre III, said the captured suspect is a resident of Barangay Holy Spirit, QC.
A report from the Kamuning Police Station (PS) 10 showed that the incident happened at about 9:00 p.m., October 20, 2022, in front of E.B. Davantes Aesthetic Clinic located at Scout Tuazon St., Bgy. Laging Handa, QC.
The victim, identified as Erica Davantes, also known as “Hazel Espinosa”, was fixing her belongings at the back of her car when the suspect suddenly appeared onboard a motorcycle and snatched her bag.
The victim immediately reported the incident to the police.
Davantes told the police that one of her cellphones had a global positioning system (GPS) which operatives of the Kamuning Police Station 10 used in tracking the suspect.
A follow-up operation was immediately conducted, leading to the suspect’s arrest in his residence.
Policemen recovered the seized belongings of the victim.
The suspect will be charged with robbery in relation to RA 11235 or An Act Preventing and Penalizing the Use of Motorcycles in the Commission of Crimes.
Torre III commended PS 10 for the successful follow-up operation, which resulted in the arrest of the suspect. He also thanked the victim for her cooperation and for trusting QCPD personnel to report the incident.
