MANILA Mayor Maria Sheilah Lacuna-Pangan, together with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr., led the “PinasLakas” nationwide booster vaccination campaign in SM Manila on Wednesday, August 17.

Lacuna, who is a doctor by profession, was also joined by the Department of Health (DOH) Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Maria Rosario Vergeire in vaccinating individuals, including Ilocos Norte First District Representative Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos and President Marcos Jr., respectively.

“Kami po ay lubos na nagagalak na maging bahagi at maging aktibong katuwang ng ating pamahalang nasyonal sa isang mahalagang gawain na ito, ang PinasLakas Nationwide Booster Vaccination Campaign na may hangaring maabot ang mas marami pa nating mga kababayan na mabigyan ng booster shots ng bakuna kontra sa COVID-19 sa loob ng isang-daang araw,” Lacuna-Pangan said.

PinasLakas Campaign is part of the national government’s initiative to increase booster coverage amongst Filipinos.

Pres. Marcos Jr., for his part, continued his call to the public to get their booster jab as the country prepares for the opening of classes, among others.

“We encourage everyone to have a booster shot para masabi natin fully immunized,” Pres. Marcos Jr. said.

“We have many elements that are important — the back to school, the certain parts of the economy, lahat yan ay aming tinitingnan para makabalik sa trabaho, para makabalik sa eskwelahan at para maging ligtas tayo,” he added.

The Manila city government has provided a total of 627,857 vaccine doses for the first booster and 66,864 doses for the second booster for Manilans and non-Manilans.

With DOH’s guidelines, the City of Manila is open for walk-in vaccination and booster for everyone, as long as recipients are registered at http://manilacovid19vaccine.ph.
