SENATOR Francis Tolentino on Saturday urged the Department of Heath (DOH) to utilize its mass vaccination drive against the COVID-19 and inoculate those qualified residents currently taking shelter in different evacuation centers across the country amid the onslaught of Super Typhoon Odette.

Tolentino said the government should take advantage of the current situation and bring its mass vaccination drive for qualified evacuees in Odette-hit areas, particularly in Visayas and Mindanao.

Based on the latest data from the National Risk Reduction and Management Council, about 84,674 families or equivalent to 338,664 individuals are currently staying in various evacuation centers following the catastrophic devastation of the latest weather disturbance in the country.

As of Friday, the DOH announced that it has already administered about 100 million doses of various COVID-19 vaccines since the national vaccination program was initiated last March.
