Mariveles customs has new sub-port collector
MARIVELES, Bataan – This subport of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) has a new collector in the person of lawyer Niño F. Kjell Servañes.
The official designation of Atty. Servañes as the newly designated Sub-Port Collector of the Mariveles port was based on the order issued by the Customs Commissioner Yogi L. Ruiz.
People’s Tonight learned that prior to his designation as Mariveles sub-port collector, Atty. Servañes was the acting chief of the Law Division and the chief of the Auction and Cargo Disposal Division (ACDD) of the Port of Limay.
A graduate of the Philippine Christian University (PCU) for his Bachelor of Laws degree and obtained his undergraduate Degree from the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) Major in AB Philosophy, Servañes now holds office at the subport of Mariveles situated in the AFAB Annex-DEA Building within the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB).
Meanwhile, the office of the Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Limay has been temporarily moved to the AFAB annex building inside the Freeport Area of Bataan.
This was learned from District Collector Atty. William B. Balayo of the Port of Limay, said they are temporarily holding office in the AFAB building to pave the way for constructing their new office in Barangay Lamao, Limay town.
The old office of the BOC in Limay will be demolished, and a new building will be constructed, said Collector Balayo.
Records showed that the Port of Limay under Collector Balayo is one of the biggest contributors to the national coffers, surpassing its targets for 16 consecutive months.
Collector Balayo expressed optimism that Servañes will be an “excellent partner” of his office, being also a lawyer who can also contribute immensely to the much-needed revenue collection of the national government.
