Ma kills, hides own baby in cabinet
POLICE arrested a 21-year-old woman for allegedly killing her newborn baby and hiding the infant inside a cabinet in Capiz.
Suspect Ana (not her real name) of Roxas City, Capiz, was charged with infanticide before the Roxas City Prosecutors Office.
MSgt. Ronie Recto said an autopsy examination showed that the baby boy did not die from natural causes but from asphyxiation due to strangulation.
The suspect works as caregiver for a couple in Bgy. Baybay, Roxas City.
An investigation showed Ana’s employers noticed signs of possible pregnancy. When asked by her female employer, she denied being pregnant.
Ana’s employers later learned she already gave birth.
The suspect stuffed her newborn baby boy in an eco bag and placed him inside her employers cabinet.
“Sa sobrang pagtago sa pamilya, nahihiya, kaya siguro nagawa ang krimen,” the investigating officer said.
The suspect was initially placed on a hospital arrest.
Yesterday, Ana was brought to the police station and was placed behind bars.
