A FORMER employee of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) allegedly involved in illegal activities and earning millions of money as a “fixer” for LTO documents was arrested.

In a report submitted to LTO Chief Atty. Jose Arturo Tugade, Eric Lenard Tabaldo, LTO-Region 6 Regional Director of Antique District Office, said the suspect was arrested based on a San Jose Municipal Trial Court (MTC) warrant for 12 counts of falsification of public documents and 12 counts of estafa and “fixing.”

The court ordered the suspect to pay P1.296 million bail for all 24 cases.

The 24 separate orders were issued January 12, 2023 by the Hon. Judge Gemma Bordon-Tady, Presiding Judge at the MTC of San Jose, Antique.

The suspect was a former LTO staff with a clerical position and assigned to Antique District Office, said Tabaldo.

“Ang mga 24 na nagreklamo, eto yung mga pinaprocess niya ng license without the (proper) requirements,” said Tabaldo.

“The filing of cases against this corrupt employee serves as an example that LTO offices around continue are doing everything to heed my call to stamp out corruption [in] their respective areas of jurisdiction. Crime really does not pay at the LTO,” Tugade said in a statement.

The LTO chief commended Tabaldo, Assistant Regional Director Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan ll of the LTO Antique, and the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office for the issuance of arrest warrants against the suspect.
