Lazatin eyes PWD-friendly Angeles City hall
ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. instructed the City Engineering Office to inspect the city government offices and premises to ensure accessibility to persons with disabilities.
Lazatin allowed the CEO to use the remaining funds of the Office of the City Mayor to build necessary structures, promoting PWD-friendly vicinity.
“As the city government works towards making Angeles City friendly and accessible to PWDs, it should start with the offices of the city hall,” Lazatin said.
The CEO, in coordination with the Business Permit and Licensing Division, was likewise tasked to ensure accessibility in all establishments in the city.
“The PWDs are part of the community, and we should make them feel like that by making it easier for them in all aspects,” Lazatin said.
The city government is set to give P1,000 financial assistance to registered PWDs in the city this year.
During the height of the pandemic, 5,000 registered PWDs received P1,000 financial assistance each from the city government after Mayor Lazatin allotted a P5 million fund for the purpose.
