Jobless man gunned down in QC
A JOBLESS man who has been released from jail for illegal drugs charges was shot dead in a vacant lot near his house in Quezon City on Monday morning.
The victim, a resident of Leyte Street, Barangay Payatas B, Quezon City, was killed on the spot due to a gunshot wound in the head.
A report from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) showed that the incident happened at about 8:50 a.m., July 18, 2022, at the vacant lot located at Bicol Extension, Bgy. Payatas B, Quezon City.
Investigation disclosed that at the stated time, a neighbor of the victim was drinking coffee inside his house when he heard a gunshot from outside.
When he checked, he saw the victim lying on the pavement with blood on his head.
The incident was reported to Barangay Payatas, Quezon City officials, and later to PS-13, QCPD.
Initial examination showed that the victim sustained a lone gunshot wound on the back of his head.
The victim’s live-in partner told the police that the victim was arrested for violating Sec 11, RA 9165, and was released from detention in March 2022.
