PHOENIX Super LPG brought down Converge FiberX , 113-107, in the battle between last-placed teams in PBA Philippine Cup at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

Jason Perkins finished with 26 points on an efficient 10-o-f15 shooting, and added 13 rebounds and four assists in 35 minutes for the Fuel Masters, who ended a two–game losing skid.

Ricci Rivero added 17 points, Ken Tuffin contributed 16 points and 10 rebounds, Javee Mocon, Matthew Daves had 11 points and Jayjay Alejandro had 10 points and eight assists for the coach Jamike Jarin-mentored Phoenix, which led by as many as 18 points.

Tuffin had nine points and four rebounds in the fourth quarter alone.The 26-year-old rookie hit a triple, scored on a drive and nailed two charities to spark and an 8-0 run that made it an 11-point game for Phoenix.

The win by Phoenix put to waste the superb games of Justine Arana, who finished with a double-double of 32 points and 16 assists; and Alec Stockton, who wound up with 31 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Bryan Santos had 11 points, seven rebounds and seven assist in Phoenix’s seventh straight setback.

“Human nature says that you get a little comfortable when you have a lead and it happens to almost every single team and we’re no different,” said Willy Wilson, who subbed for Jarin in the post-game interview.

“It was the same thing that happened to us in the first half, kinda losing our identity,” was how Once we found that identity, we were able to get back on track,” Wilson.

Meanwhile, the PBA visits Candon, Ilocos Sur with a game pitting NLEX (5-1) against TNT (3-3) at 6:15 p.m.

At the Caloocan Sports Complex, Rain or Shine battles Terrafirma at 3 p.m.
