IMUS CITY, Cavite–THE mayor of this city, Alex Advincula, has reported that medical care is the core of his leadership since becoming mayor in June 30, 2022.

In his 59-minute State of the City Address to highlight his first year in office, he presented his programs via Audio Visual Presentation where he presented the program contained in his 5-point agenda that focuses on health, education and public service, good governance, housing and livelihood, infrastructure and environment

Leading his achievements was the opening of a 24/7 birthing home and 30-seat dialysis center at the Ospital ng Imus in Pedro Reyes St., Barangay Malagasang 1-G on Thursday, June 29, 2023.

Advincula together with Vice Mayor Homer Saquilayan and Dr. Ferdinand Mina, acting City Health Officer, inaugurated the birthing home complete with admitting, breastfeeding area, consultation room, sterilization room, labor room for 3 patients and 2 delivery room that can perform 3 deliveries simultaneously.

The birthing home is manned by 14 midwives, two doctors, 10 utilities personnel and 1 admin staff.

According to Dr. Mina, the birthing place can accommodate 6 simultaneous deliveries. It is the biggest birthing home in the province.

Advincula, together with the Team AJAA, also led the opening of the 2-storey dialysis center with 20 brand new ‘Dialog’ Braun dialysis machines at the back of General Pantaleon Garcia Senior High Building at ONI compound.

“Nakapa-suwerte po nating mga Imuseños na magkaroon ng ganitong facility na masasabi po natin na pinakamagandang government-owned dialysis center sa lalawigan.” Dr. Gabriel Gabriel, Ospital ng Imus (ONI) administrator, said in his speech before city officials and barangay leaders.

Advincula said the birthing home costs P20 million while the dialysis center is worth P80 million.

In his speech, Advincula said everything is free at the birthing center–from pre-natal check-up to giving birth.

“It’s 100 percent free, PhilHealth will pay for us. We will be able to charge the agency,” he said.

Advincula also included the projects earmarked for the remaining two years of his tenure.

Mayor Advincula expressed his gratitude to the people who are with him in the development of these projects.

He also promised that he would continue to deliver all his promises.

One of the highlights of his first year in office was the lighting of every road in the city, building more access roads, road clearing and solving garbage problems.

“Traffic and water problems are the main focus. My plans are to make a solution for the next two years of my term and solve the traffic problem and the installation of CCTVs in the area to ensure the safety of every Imuseño.” Advincula added.
