NORTHPORT Batang Pier hopes to end their two-game losing skid when they take on Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Gametime is 4:30 p.m.

Despite back-to-back losses to Magnolia and Barangay Ginebra, NorthPort coach Bonnie Tan is confident the team can get back to win column.

“We can’t be pressured ng mga circumstances namin,” said Tan in an interview posted in the PBA website.

“Nandiyan na iyan so all we can do is to look forward to our remaining games and makuha lang muna immediate objective namin, which is to get to the quarterfinals. Okay lang sa amin, kahit tuloy-tuloy laro. Pero sana manalo para makabuwelo,” added Tan.

But it will not be easy, for sure.

Rain or Shine, handled by coach Yeng Guiao, is eyeing to extend their four-game winning streak and improve their record to 5-4.

In the 7:30 p.m. mainer, Magnolia Chicken Timplados guns for its third straight victory against the Blackwater Bossing.

The Bossing of coach Jeff Cariaso is gunning to get back on winning track and end their four-game slide.

At 3-4, the Bossing are tied for ninth place with the Meralco Bolts.

But it’s also not going to be easy against the Chito Victolero-mentored Hotshots squad.

The Hotshots are fresh from victory against Phoenix Super LPG, 107-93 last Sunday.

The duo of Mark Barroca and Ian Sangalang combined for 50 points against the Fuel Masters.

Barroca finished with 27 points while Sangalang added 23 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.
