Fire hits Caloocan, boy dead

A THREE-YEAR-OLD boy died in a 30-minute fire that gutted six residential houses Wednesday afternoon in Caloocan City.

Caloocan City Fire Marshal Supt. Roberto Samillano Jr. said the young victim identified as Patrick Ace Francisco was trapped inside their two-storey house when the fire of still undetermined origin broke out at around 1:30 p.m. at the house of certain Edelita Sacil at Pampano St. Bgy. 14.

The victim’s father told Caloocan Fire Arson investigator FO3 Mark Vincent Severino that he failed to notice that his son went upstairs when the fire spread quickly to adjacent houses mostly made up of light materials.

The fire was declared fire out at around 2:00 p.m. leaving six families homeless while property damage was pegged at P80,000.

Supt. Samillano said arson probers are still investigating to determine the cause of the blaze.
