Fiery win by 521 Trading-Mapua

DARKHORSE 521 Trading Inc-Mapua demolished Mandaluyong Namayan Tigre, 86-63, to register its first win in the Pilipinas Super League (PSL) NCR leg 18-under category at Veacon Hope Gym in Caloocan City.

521 Trading rode on the hot hands of Sean Choncey Salvador and three other players to overpower Mandaluyong and barge into the win column after two outings in the tournament supported by Manila Bankers Life Insurance Corporation, Net25 and Dumper Party List.

Salvador, who was named Manila Bankers Life Super Player of the Game, topscored with 14 points.

Jose Gabriel Dayrit added 12 points, Joaquin Sebastian Coronel had 11 points and Andreo Ricci Santos contributed nine points for 521 Trading, which is being handled by coach Yong Garcia, team manager Louie Leyva and team owner Engr Teddy Javines.

521 Trading, Inc. which is built around Mapua junior squad, is using the tournament as part of their preparation for the next NCAA tournament.

Assisting Garcia are Nani Epondulan, Paolo Gorospe, Jeff Tajonera, James Ongpin and Carlito Martinez and team consultant Alex Tan.

.Andrian Michael Celis 16 and James Ross Corpuz scored 16 and 11 points for the Mandaluyong Tigre which fell to 2-2.

Other teams in NCR leg were Farm Fresh – Letran 2-0, NBS Kris 2-0, Taytay Builders 2-0, Fin and Claw Grill 1-1, EZ Jersey Doc Boleros 1-1,

Batang Kankaloo 1-2, Magnificient Manila 0-2 and New Era Hunters 0-3.

In the Luzon leg, Legend Dream Guild Academy (LDGA) defeated Batang Lakan ng Bulacan, 77-68, for its second win in three outings while Datzlav Sta Cruz Builders downed Calamba City Patriots, 84-77, for its third straight win.

JD Panelo finished with game-highs of 27 points and 21 rebounds for LDGA of Richard Penaranda and assistant coaches Dahries Creencia and Jay-R Dichoso.

Panelo was later named Manila Bankers Life “Super Player of the Game.”

Shadrach Chang added 18 points, Joseph Timtiman had 15 points and John Cyrus had Gemao 11 points for the San Pedro City-based team.
