Eleazar cites cop who saves drowning man, another who helped woman give birth

PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) chief, General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar on Sunday commended a cop in Bulacan and another in Isabela for providi f true and selfless public service.

Last Friday, Gen. Eleazar said personnel from the Isabela Provincial Mobile Force Company were conducting patrols in Barangay Rang-Ayan in Ilagan town when a group of people sought their help to save a man, later identified as Ramon Domingo, from drowning in the river.

Gen. Eleazar said Patrolman Maynard Llapitan and his companions immediately rescued Domingo.

Llapitan then provided first aid on Domingo.

Even as a Patrolman he displayed presence of mind to save a life and manifested selfless public service,” the PNP chief said.

In Bulacan, the PNP chief commended Staff Sergeant Babylyn Junio of the Hagonoy Municipal Police Station for helping a woman about to give birth while in a tricycle.

An alert Junio immediately called for rescue and a doctor to help the woman safely deliver her baby.

Gen. Eleazar urged all PNP personnel to follow the examples of Llapitan and Junio as well as other police officers in the past who have done good deeds for the community.

Eleazar added.
