Ecija MC dealer loses P38K to thieves

SAN LEONARDO, Nueva Ecija – A local branch of Wheeltek Motorcycle Sales Corporation was robbed by unidentified suspects here on Saturday morning.

Robbed was the firm’s sales office along the highway in Bgy. Diversion said town police head Major Jaime Ferrer.

Investigation showed the unidentified robbers forcibly entered the firm by destroying the roof of the stockroom.

Ferrer said the heist was discovered when its branch manager Lorizza Dimapawi, 32, and bookkeeper Graciella Garcia, 28, arrived and opened the shop’s roll-up doors at 8:00 a.m. Saturday.

He said the two office personnel found the office vault and several official receipts and documents scattered on the floor upon opening.

Also, they found the P38,000 money placed inside the vault the day earlier, including a Vivo company phone, were missing.

Probers said the vault was not forcibly taken, noticing it was still intact with no signs of destruction.

Ferrer said he ordered his men to review CCTV (closed-circuit television) camera footage in nearby establishments to look for possible leads in their investigation.

He said the firm’s CCTV system was not functioning during the robbery.
