DTI assists 9,902 Bataeños, provides livelihood kits

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) here has provided livelihood kits, assisted 13 Negosyo Centers (NCs), and assisted about 9,902 clients from January to August this year.

Briefing local newsmen, DTI Bataan Provincial Director Nelin Cabahug said they had likewise accomplished a total of 5,116 business name registrations during the period.

Cabahug and her staff have regularly briefed journalists about their activities to make the public aware of their programs to help the business sectors and the public.

“With these numbers, we can say that our province is recovering, and vibrancy can now be seen in our local economy,” said DTI Bataan Senior Trade Industry Development Specialist and Information Officer Teresita Magtanong.

Cabahug reported that Bataan NCs also assisted micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through business consultancies, seminars and training, packaging and labeling, trade fairs, and market matching.

Meanwhile, DTI conducted three “Likha ng Bataeño” trade fairs last February, March, and July, which generated a total of P1,430,275 in sales.

DTI likewise re-launched the “Diskwento Caravan” after a two-year break due to the pandemic, which was participated by a total of 53 local distributors, manufacturers, retailers, and MSMEs.

It generated approximately P1,014,285.75 in sales, benefitting about 25 barangays and 3,381 consumers.
