DILG recognizes Caloocan’s efforts to protect children

THE Department of Interior and Local Government-National Capital Region (DILG-NCR), through the 2023 Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Functionality Assessment, recognized the city government of Caloocan for its outstanding dedication to protect the interests of children.

In the LCPC Assessment, the Caloocan City Council for the Protection of Children received an overall score of 88.46 percent which was described as an “ideal” rating.

City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan thanked the DILG for the recognition and appreciated the efforts of the City Council for the Protection of Children in helping to push forward the objective of having a safe and child-friendly city.

“Nagpapasalamat po tayo sa Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) sa paggawad ng pagkilala na ito, pati na rin sa ating Caloocan City Council for the Protection of Children sa pagtulong na gumawa ng isang ligtas at maligayang komunidad para sa mga bata,” Mayor Along said.

The local chief executive also pledged to improve key areas identified by the assessment and reiterated his administration’s commitment in keeping the interests of children a top priority.

“Hindi po nagtatapos sa pagkilala na ito ang ating trabaho at tinitiyak ko po na mas mapapabuti pa natin ang ibang aspeto ng ating serbisyo para sa mga kabataan,” the mayor said.
