Diego Gutierrez is set to release his new song, Sino na Tayo. It marks his first time to record an all-Tagalog song.

“It feels great to be able to record and release a song using a language that best expresses how my heart feels,” the young singer confesses.

“As access to music becomes more global, I feel like I’ll really be able to connect deeper with local listeners while maintaining a broader, international appeal,” he adds.

Asked to explain more, Diego, who is seen regularly in Asap Natin ’To every Sunday, further clarifies, “Sino na Tayo is really the first time we attempted to write an all-Tagalog song. Just looking back to the music I grew up with, hearing songs in Tagalog just really felt more authentic and true to my roots. I wanted to tap into Filipino ‘hugot’ sentimentality then hopefully connect it to a wider audience with an international pop feel and arrangement.”

What is the song about?

“The whole premise behind the track is about this realization between you and the person you love, and how time has evidently changed that connection. It’s about struggling to figure things out, where things went wrong, dropping your guard and realizing that you’re about to lose someone you want to grow old with. That entire narrative in an all-Tagalog song over a nostalgic yet futuristic production hopefully makes you feel the emotional rollercoaster I wanted to convey in the song,” explains Diego.

Incidentally, a music video of his song has just been completed. Shot in scenic Caliraya and directed by Kashka Gaddi, Diego is teamed up with Anji Salvacion from Pinoy Big Brother.

Sino na Tayo was produced and arranged by Mark J. Feist.

Its lyrics were written by Diego himself and Wilde Quimson while the music was composed by Mark under the Hitmakers Entertainment label.
