Depressed man kills self on nth suicide attempt
AN allegedly depressed man who reportedly tried to commit suicide oftentimes was found hanging lifeless from the ceiling of their house Sunday evening in Navotas City.
Navotas police chief P/Col. Dexter Ollaging said the victim, a 30-year old welder, was discovered by his 27-year old live-in partner hanging with a cotton strap belt looped around his neck and the other end tied on the wooden beam ceiling of their house at Blk 3, Bacog, Daang Hari at around 8:30 p.m.
Investigation conducted by P/SSgt. Levi Salazar showed that earlier, the victim and his live-in partner visited their relatives on Sunday and while walking on their way home, the latter asked her partner to go to the house of her cousin who live near the area but the former decided to go home first.
After a few minutes, the victim’s live-in partner arrived at their home and was shocked to see her common law husband hanging from the ceiling inside their abode which prompted her to seek the help of their neighbor in bringing the victim to Navotas City Hospital where he was declared dead upon arrival at around 9:16 p.m.
The woman told police that her live-in partner was likely to commit suicide every time he was under the influence of liquor.
Police said victim’s mother decided to execute a written affidavit stating that she was convinced that her son committed suicide and there was no foul play on the incident.
