Davao-Cocolife to join Filbasket

THE Davao Occidental-Cocolife Tigers will see action in another battleground — the newly-established Filipino Basketball League (FilBasket)..

The Tigers, the reigning Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) national champion, wil join other powerhouse teams in the newest amateur/commercial league scheduled to kick off in September in the National Capital Region via bubble setup depending on the health and safety protocols of the IATF.

Davao-Cocolife deputy team manager Ray Alao said veterans Mark Yee, Bonbon Custodio, Billy Ray Robles, Emman Calo, Joseph Terso, Chester Saldua and Marco Balagtas will banner the campaign of the team owned by Davao Occidental Governor Claude Bautista and Dumper Party List Congresswoman Claudine Bautista Lim.

The newest additions to the Davao-Cocolife line-up are Keith Agovida, Robby Celiz, Gab Dagangon, Chris Lalata, Jose Presbiterio, Alvin Alday, Irven Palencia and Daniel Bayla.

They will beef up the team supported by Cocolife president Atty. Jose Martin Loon, SVP Joseph Ronquillo, VP Rowena Asnan and EVP Joie Franz Araque.

“The Davao Cocolife Tigers hope to continue our winning tradition in basketball. At FilBasket, hear them roar once more,” said Ronquillo said.

Veteran oach Don Dulay will again call the shots for the powerhouse team from Mindanao.

Assisting Dulay are Manu Inigo, Matt Makalintal, Arvin Bonleon.

The team will be managed by Dinko Bautista with deputy Alao and Bhong Baribar for basketball operations.DS
