PHILIPPINE National Police Officer-in-Charge (PNP-OIC) Lieutenant General Vicente D. Danao Jr. on Friday commended all officers and men of the 225,000-strong force for ensuring a “generally peaceful” situation in the country during the inauguration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.

“My congratulations to all of you for a very peaceful and successful conduct of PBBM’s inaugural address. No significant incident was noted during the said event. I also extend my congratulations to all the inter-agencies that made this well-coordinated national event a success,” said the top cop.

“Indeed, unity, cooperation, hard work, and perseverance will always lead us to greater heights,” said the PNP-OIC.

According to the PNP leadership, the historic inauguration ceremony of President Marcos Jr. was peaceful and orderly at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Manila and other venues that hosted public viewing of the event.

Lt. Gen. Danao said they noted no significant untoward incident in Manila and other locations nationwide during the inauguration day.

“Through the activation of Manila Task Force Shield, our police force along with other government agencies have successfully prepared and implemented all security measures for the solemn and orderly conduct of the inauguration of President Marcos,” he said.

Except for a brief mass action staged by a small group in Quezon City, the PNP did not monitor any significant incidents and public assemblies coinciding with the presidential inaugural,” Lt. Gen. Danao said.

The official also cited the cooperation of spectators who witnessed the ceremony for following the security and safety guidelines imposed by authorities.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Major Gen. Felipe R. Natividad affirmed that the inauguration of the 17th president was generally peaceful as they recorded “zero” major incidents all over Metro Manila on Thursday.

The official attributed this achievement to the early preparation and intensified implementation of the security plan by police, military troops, and members of the Philippine forces.

“Everyone’s effort is highly appreciated, and every role is significant in the success of this historic event,” he said.

Maj. Gen. Natividad said that it is “noteworthy” to mention the adherence to Lt. Gen. Danao’s instructions to conduct different programs and bring the advocacy of the PNP to the freedom parks where everyone is welcome to express their thoughts and opinions.

The official said that members of the Community Affairs Development Divisions of the five NCRPO districts have been “proactive” in reaching out to the community members since last Monday.

However, on the day of the inauguration, tripled efforts from police officers were present in the different areas of Metro Manila in order to deliver services to people from all walks of life.

Natividad said that in Liwasang Bonifacio, his men led the distribution of hot meals to all individuals in the area regardless of what group or organization they represented.

Also, groups from the different areas showcased their talent in dancing and singing to entertain the public.

Through the programs in the area, different support groups of PBBM and advocacy groups of NCR (National Capital Region) gathered together and showed the spirit of unity.

Maj. Gen. Natividad conveyed a congratulatory message of NCRPO to President Marcos Jr. and “vows to be a dependable defender of our Constitution and a stronghold of democracy for our beloved nation.”
