The tournament was the culmination of the previous five qualifying legs held in different venues in NCR ,attracting entries from as far as Zamboanga, Pangasinan, Batangas, Laguna, and Cavite.

The top 16 players based on points made it to the one days finals sponsored by Scarab, among the qualifiers was a 12 year old from Zamboanga, Rhaki Constantino who made it to the quarterfinals. \

Three-time world champion and event organizer Rubilen Amit was very happy about the turn out of entries in the first season of the Amit Cup.

“Most of them were new faces and this is what we need to grow women’s billiards here, this is my advocacy,” said Amit who will stage her second season in June with two categories, intermediate and advanced.

Amit together with her heir apparent Chezka Centeno will be leaving for the SEA Games next month.

“But it will be difficult for us there as we will only play in the carom event and both of us have never played this game at tournament level before,” said Amit, By Lito Cinco
