CAR cops recover P37.3M marijuana bricks in Kalinga

OLICE Regional Office -Cordillera (PRO-COR) Director Police Brigadier General Ronald Oliver Lee announced that joint personnel of Tabuk CPS, 1503 MC RMFB 15, PIU/PDEU 1st Coy KPMFC, Lubuagan MPS, RID PRO-COR , RIU14, and PDEA Kalinga seized 311 marijuana bricks worth P37,320,000 at around 9:30 a.m. Sunday in Bgy. Lacnog, Tabuk City Kalinga.

Kalinga Police Provincial Office (KPPO) Director, PCol. Davy Vicente M. Limmong said personnel led by PLt. Col. Radino S. Belly,COP Tabuk PS and PLt. Denver Agustin, 1503RD MC, RMFB under his supervission conducted a checkpoint for the possible interception of a black Mitsubishi Adventure bearing plate no . NBZ 7232 after a concerned citizen texted that the vehicle was transporting marijuana bricks from Tinglayan, Kalinga.

A report said said the driver of Mitsubishi Adventure tried to avoid the checkpoint prompting the cops to give chase. However, occupants of the vehicle managed to escape and run in different directions.

Seized from the vehicle were eight sacks containing 311 bricks of alleged marijuana leaves weighing 311 kg. with an estimated value of P37,320,000.
